Azerbaijan, a country in the Caucasus between Turkmenistan and Iran has an ancient cultural heritage. Throughout its decades of history, Azerbaijan has been an independent republic with a large variety of geographic and historic features. This complexity is one of the main features that attracts many international students who are searching for new experiences or just want to learn more about the world.

The education system in Azerbaijan is based on three levels:
Bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees, It is similar to the education system used in America and Europe, where educational diplomas from Azerbaijan are recognized in more than 50 countries around the world.
Because of its distinguished geographical location between Europe and Asia, Azerbaijan has joined two of the six UNESCO committees concerned with education; it has joined the European Commission which includes 41 countries, And the Asian Committee, which includes 37 countries
Educational stages
Most Azerbaijani universities chose to study in English because they are considered the language of communication and science in the world.
In order for the higher education system in Azerbaijan to be composed of state or private institutions.
The first stage of the university level is the bachelor’s level, which extends from 4 to 6 years, according to the specialty chosen for university study.
The second stage extends from one and a half to two years, during which the student will gain in-depth knowledge and professional training through which the student will obtain a master’s degree.
As for the third stage, it is that which comes after a master’s degree, during which a graduate of the second stage obtains a doctorate degree after studying two to three years, according to the specialization.
The academic year in Azerbaijan begins with an introductory year before enrolling in the first year of the university because the student must be prepared to attend remedial classes in the English language and the Azerbaijani language.
The education of foreign students in the state of Azerbaijan today has become one of the primary directions for international relations within the Ministry of Education, So that the state concerned with the participation of more foreign students to find a more efficient mechanism and eliminate gaps in the field of education of foreign citizens together with Azerbaijani students.
